The Girl
Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl
Scouting, earned by Girl Scouts ages 14-17. It is designed
to be a culmination of all you have learned and experienced
in Girl Scouting.
You may work on the Gold Award from the time
you begin 9th grade or 14 years of age and must
complete the requirements
for the award by the end of the membership year of you
senior year in high school. You may work with your troop on
many aspects of the Gold Award. However, it is highly
recommended that the final Gold Award project be an
individual effort.
The award has five requirements, all
which require efficient organization, time management and
leadership skills. To find out more about the requirements refer to
the Girl Scout Gold Award Go For It Studio 2B focus insert
(available at council shop).
Gold Award Workshop
If you plan to begin working on the Gold Award
prerequisites, or if you have already begun, you must attend
the Gold Award workshop. This workshop will give you current
paperwork, answer your questions about requirements,
application procedures, and give you ideas for taking your
ideas for a project to Gold Award level. The Gold Award
workshop is for girls ages 14-17, parents and leaders. In
addition parents and leaders can download the helpful letter
for adults.

Free “Go for the Gold” Trainings
This is a required training for
girls interested in earning their Gold Award. It must be
taken in the year she plans to do her project- or re-taken
if she took it previously more than a year ago. The training
focuses on creating a great Gold Award action project and
will prepare girls with an idea of the types of project that
will and will not be approved by the Gold Award committee.
It is not a training that covers the pre-requisites which
are clearly explained in the packet itself which you may
download from this website. If you have questions you may
always feel free to contact Timalee Nevels at 520-319-3159
or
