Silver Award
The Girl
Scout Gold Award is the highest and often the final award
earned as a Girl Scout ages 14-17 — it is her legacy to Girl
Scouting. Leadership, community service, career planning and
personal development are the areas of accomplishment which
the Gold Award recognizes. Five requirements related to
these areas must be completed. Recipients work for up
to 18 months to complete a project based on community need.
These awards are recognized by many governmental, national,
and local organizations.
The Silver Award is the pinnacle of achievement for a
Girl Scout ages 11-14. Each Silver Award recipient has
fulfilled four requirements which combine her leadership and
planning skills, as well as career exploration to benefit
her life and the lives of others. A minimum of 40 hours is
spent designing and carrying out the Silver Award project. |
